The Intern Edge ("we", "us", "our"), operating at theinternedge.in, respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: name, email, phone (with OTP verification), password (hashed), date of birth, role (student/company).
• Student profile: college, major, skills, bio, PIN code, district, state, internship preferences, resume PDF.
• Company profile: company name, industry, website.
• Activity data: applications, messages with our admin desk, payments.

2. How we use it

• To operate the platform (match, mediate, place).
• To send status updates via email or SMS.
• To process subscription payments (via Stripe — we never store card details).
• To generate certificates of experience after successful placements.

3. Sharing

Students and companies never see each other's direct contact details. Only our admin team mediates. We share candidate profiles with companies only after student consent (via application). We use trusted processors: Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Twilio (SMS), Emergent (hosting & object storage).

4. Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to register as a student. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

5. Data retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. Delete your account by emailing support@theinternedge.in — we'll erase your data within 30 days (except records legally required to retain).

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, download, or delete your data at any time. Contact support@theinternedge.in.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Sessions are HTTPS-only. Files are stored in encrypted object storage. We are not liable for user error (weak passwords, sharing credentials).

8. Cookies

We use httpOnly session cookies for login. No third-party ad cookies.

9. Changes

We may update this policy — material changes will be communicated by email.
